It Number of Warzone 2 players decreased significantly and at a “higher-than-expected rate,” according to the CharlieIntel report. So while it’s no surprise that the multiplayer game’s player count has dropped a few months after launch, it seems like they’re leaving Warzone faster than usual for a few reasons.
Possible reasons why players have left Warzone 2
While there are no player figures for Warzone 2 on PS5 and PS4, they are available for the PC version via SteamCharts. After looking at the game’s player count statistics over the last few months, it had a peak of 488,897 players on November 19, 2022, which makes sense since that was the first Sunday after the game launched. That figure has continued to steadily drop to an average of 120,000 players this past week, starting on January 9th.
Twitter users are reacting A report by CharlieIntel provide some explanations as to why players are moving away from this particular version of Call of Duty. Looking at answers with a high number of likes, we found one user who remains frustrated with the lack of recorded stats for Warzone 2. Another says that it lacks many of the features of the original Warzone and that it hasn’t added much since launch.
Other reasons could be that some players just want the popular Verdansk map from Warzone 1 back. There are also many other Battle Royale games to choose from such as Fortnite and Apex Legends.
