Our iPhone is now attached to our existence and with us wherever we go. However, it’s a little worrying to know that these smartphones can track you at all hours of the day and night, even when you don’t want them to.

It’s incredibly creepy when you’re using your Maps app or another GPS app and your phone suggests frequently visited places like your home address, a friend’s house, or work.

How does my iPhone track my frequent locations?

Apple has given its iPhone devices a special feature called Significant places. These places are usually the places you visit most often.

This feature is enabled by default, and it’s meant to help you keep track of all the places you’ve visited often.

While you may consider this a valuable feature that you enjoy using, I understand that not everyone wants to be tracked at all hours of the day, and some prefer to keep the places you visit private, even from your own devices. With a focus on privacy, Apple gives us better control to turn off significant locations.
