Overwatch 2 December 15 patch notes. Doomfist nerfed, Ramattra, Ana & Orisa buffed

The patch notes for Overwatch 2’s next update for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles have surfaced, and they include many changes to the game’s characters.

Lead character designer Alec Dawson revealed the new patch live on Twitch with Flats and Emongg, and the update includes a number of changes to encounter options.

While Roadhog isn’t touched in this patch, some of his biggest counters in Ana are getting a bump that can help players overcome his dominance.

The one-eye support sniper packs huge hits on his damage, healing, and Biotic Grenade. Grenade duration is increased by one second, enemies heal less, while allies get to enjoy the bonus.

Kiriko’s Protection Suzu also gets some nerfs as the duration of the invulnerability is reduced. Whether this will be enough to stop the Hogue-Chirico meta remains to be seen, however.

The Doomfist nerfs are also a big deal this patch after being “too messed up” to start Season 2. Talon Leader’s Rocket Punch gets its cooldown. Additionally, players must mitigate more damage to power up the ability.

Also on the tank side, Orisa and Ramattra are beaten. Orisa’s Terra Surge will now pass through barriers while her primary fire drop range increases.

Ana has been hit with this patch.

Ramattra’s Nemesis form also gets some love in the form of increased speed and armor. As a bonus, his Void Barrier cooldown is reduced from 15 seconds to 13 seconds.

Finally, Tracer and Sojourn are nerfed that the game’s talisman reduces its damage. Meanwhile, Sojourn gets its Railgun spread, Disruptor Shot no longer slows, and Power Slide gets a longer cooldown.

Rocket Punch

  • Cooldown increased from 3 to 4 seconds

Power Block:

  • Increased the minimum damage required to power up Rocket Punch from 80 to 100

“Best defense…” passive

  • Temporary health gained per hit with single target abilities reduced from 40 to 35 health


Terra Surge:

  • Now penetrates barriers on impact

Augmented Fusion Drive

  • Damage drop range increased from 15 to 25 meters


The form of Nemesis

  • Movement speed increased by 20%
  • Armor bonus increased from 150 to 225

Invalid ban

  • Cooldown reduced from 15 seconds to 13 seconds




  • The primary spread of the fire increased by 28%.

Disruptive shot

  • No longer slows enemy movement

Power Slide:

  • Cooldown increased from 6 to 7 seconds


Pulse gun

  • Damage reduced from 6 to 5.5



Biotic gun

  • Damage and healing increased from 70 to 75

Biotic grenade

  • Effect duration increased from 3 to 4 seconds


Protection Suzu

  • Invulnerability duration reduced from 1 to 0.85 seconds
