If you are the type of person who likes to browse for the lowest price before making a purchase, Google recently announced something that might interest you. The price tracking feature found in the desktop version of the Chrome browser is now available in the Chrome Android app.
Google says: “Available from the US for desktops and Android devices, next time you shop, select ‘next price’ in the Chrome address bar.” You can manage the products you follow through the sidebar or. notifications you receive.”
Using the Chrome mobile app for Android, relevant pages will display “Track Price” at the top of the screen. To the left of the button will be a price tracking icon, which is a bell with a “+” sign on the top right of the bell. This is the same setting you’ll see in the desktop version of Chrome. Tapping the icon will bring up a pop-up window at the bottom of the screen; the latter includes a price tracking toggle that says “Get notifications if the price drops on a site.”
Clicking the Track Price button will notify you when the price of a particular item changes at one of the many stores tracked by your phone.
If the price of the product you’re tracking drops, you’ll get a notification Google, which not only includes a new, lower price, but also indicates where you can find the product at that lower price. The tracker works across multiple stores and websites, so you don’t have to track the same item across multiple stores to get the best deal.
Although Google says the new feature is available for Android users in the US, so far this writer hasn’t seen it on my Pixel 6 Pro running Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1. It may be too late to use for holiday shopping this year. season, but it will be available for next year’s holidays and all birthdays and other times you shop until then.
