iPhone 15 concept render
According to recent reports, Apple is set to launch a total of four iPhone 15 models this year, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will ditch the notch and adopt a new Dynamic Island design. To show off the new design, some media outlets have already created concept images of the iPhone 15.
The design of the standard iPhone 15 is expected to be largely unchanged, with an aluminum middle frame and a diagonal dual camera setup on the back. However, the addition of the Dynamic Island feature is a significant change. It should be noted that the standard iPhone 15 will not have a high screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, which will remain exclusive to the Pro version.

In terms of hardware, the standard iPhone 15 will use the same A16 chip as the iPhone 14 Pro, while the Pro variant will feature the latest A17 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process. Additionally, the Pro version will have a titanium mid-frame, 8GB of RAM, solid-state buttons, and a periscopic telephoto lens.
These significant improvements to the Pro version will help Apple further differentiate it from the Plus version, leading to a higher selling price for the Pro version. The move will also create more market space for the Plus variant.
Overall, it seems that Apple aims to cater to different consumer needs and budgets with its latest iPhone models. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will offer a new design and a more affordable version, while the Pro and Pro Max versions will offer advanced hardware and features for power users.
