According to a new report, redone Metal Gear Solid will be revealed soon. If this sounds familiar, it’s because there have been several rumors over the past year that Konami is remaking the first one. Metal Gear Solid game So far, nothing has come of these rumors, but that looks set to change no later than May of this year, or so the aforementioned report claims.
The report comes by way of Area Jugones, a Spanish site perhaps best known for regularly leaking PS Plus games. According to the site, a February or March reveal seems most likely based on what they’ve heard. And that’s about the amount of new information that comes as an update to a previous report that leaked last year about the alleged existence of the remake.
A previous report claimed that a remake of the game was in development and had been in the works for several years, but only for the PS5, indicating that PlayStation had signed a deal with Konami for either absolute exclusivity or possibly just for time exclusivity. Knowing the PlayStation is probably the first.
If this remake is real and it’s exclusive to PS5, it could be revealed at PlayStation State of Play or another PlayStation showcase. Konami again Silent Hill 2 Remake — a PS5 console exclusive — wasn’t held for the PlayStation event, so it’s probably expected that it won’t be either.
Unfortunately, for now all we have is speculation. So far, Konami and PlayStation have not commented on this report, nor have they commented on previous rumors. In other words, it’s unlikely this will change, but if it does, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly. Meanwhile, take everything here with a grain of salt. Even though the source in question has proven reliable in the past, that doesn’t mean it’s automatically accurate. Moreover, even if this is accurate, it does not mean that it will remain so, because everything, especially marketing, is subject to change; The game reveals itself to be constantly moving.
