Finally we have the key shots of Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade that recently hit the web. A more than 2-minute long video has been leaked that showcases the world, combat, and other gameplay mechanics of this mobile game. Codename Jade was originally announced during the Assassin’s Creed demo during Ubisoft Forward on September 10th. Along with Codename Jade, several other upcoming Assassin’s Creed games have been announced.
The leaked video was originally posted to the Assassin’s Creed subreddit, which then spread to the r/GamingLeaksandRumors subreddits. The footage appears to be an early build of the game as there is no voiceover. So it’s probably played by the player. You can find the streaming link here.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade Details:
In the leaked footage, we see the main character beyond the Great Wall of China, aiming to protect the village of Yonning. The UI seems to mirror the latest Assassin’s Creed games, starting with Origins. Furthermore, one of the enemy’s level is 40, so it could mean that the player’s level is also 40. As such, the mission in the leaked footage may be quite late in Codename Jade.
Also, the combat in Codename Jade feels pretty simple. The player character is seen wielding dual swords and engaging in combat. Light attacks are performed by pressing the buttons lightly, and heavy attacks are performed by pressing them hard. We then get a look at some more scenes that are very detailed with decent animations.
The player character is introduced as Denling Bai, the Juzi of the Mohists. We are also introduced to Moxia and Mohist Warrior leader Wei Yu. Wei Yu is seen as an ally of Denling Bai in the released footage. It is unknown if the player character is highly customizable like in the newer Assassin’s Creed games, or with normal customization options like in the early games. The game’s gameplay, visuals, and mechanics are close to the PC game, so Ubisoft spared no expense in making Codename Jade a proper Assassin’s Creed game.
