Township Partners with AARP offers a tax preparation assistance program

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township, in partnership with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, will host tax preparation assistance at the recreation center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive, beginning February 7, 2023 through April 12. will be offered free of charge to all, with a special focus on low- and middle-income taxpayers over 50. Please note that appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis.

AARP tax assistant volunteers will prepare returns using the filing service. Clients will meet with a volunteer to check their documents and return on another date to retrieve and sign their tax return, which will be filed electronically. Tax assistant volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS each year to ensure they meet all IRS requirements and tax code changes.

The Tax Assistant service at The Woodlands will be available by appointment only.
