A man shot and killed his wife and then killed himself at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Thornton, Colorado on Christmas morning, police said.
In news releaseThornton police confirmed that the two adults found dead at the scene were a married couple who were former members of the Kingdom Hall congregation.
The Adams County Medical Examiner will confirm the identity of the deceased at a later date, police said.
They also said that “the Adams County Sheriff’s Department’s Hazardous Materials Unit is currently investigating the suspicious devices found at the scene” and that police are interviewing witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to police, “there are no known threats to the Thornton community.”
