MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJON, North Korea – U.S. Marines from 2d MARDIV, II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) deployed in support of Continuing Promise 2022 to provide humanitarian civilian assistance to our partners in the Caribbean, Central and South countries. America.

About 90 Marine personnel from 1st Battalion, 8th Marines (1/8), 2nd MARDIV are providing additional security for the mission’s final stop in Haiti for the Continuing Promise 22 deployment. II MEF is ready for trained Marines that can be deployed at short notice.

The Continuing Promise mission included direct medical care and expeditionary veterinary care, training and expert exchanges on various medical and humanitarian relief/disaster relief topics and leading workshops on women, peace and security.

Continuing Promise 2022 has already made mission stops in four countries: Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Honduras. 2d MARDIV Marines joined this deployment for the fifth and final stop in Haiti.

As they supported Continuing Promise 2022, Marines from 1/8 helped set up medical treatment facilities, provided security and screening assistance alongside Haitian National Police and other allied host country personnel, and, when needed, escorted patients to appropriate facilities. : care
