Amid a series of tropical storms that have tore through California, President Joe Biden on Saturday approved a major disaster declaration requested by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The declaration will help people and businesses recover from any storm damage. Financing available in Santa Cruz, Sacramento and Merced counties. People in those three counties can apply for assistance if their home or business suffers damage from the storm. Support includes grants, low-cost loans or other programs. “This federal assistance is critical to recovery efforts so Californians can get back on their feet faster,” Newsom’s office said.
