This is not your everyday eavesdropping.
Tennessee Titans cornerbacks Roger McCreary and Joshua Kalu combined for one of the most brutal NFL plays you’ll ever see. Justin Herbert’s pick ended a scoring opportunity for the Los Angeles Chargers and kept them from taking the lead at halftime.
With the game tied 7-7 in the final seconds of the second quarter, Herbert looked toward Mike Williams in the front left corner of the end zone. Instead he found McCree in deep zone coverage. McCree jumped up and out to grab the ball, then tossed it back into the end zone before landing on his feet. Kalou then lost the ball while standing on his tiptoes along the touchline. He stayed in bounds long enough to secure the catch and touchdown.
Here’s another look in slow motion, because why not?
Looks like they do. And if they don’t, that’s a great improvement. Either way, it’s incredibly impressive.
The Chargers had field possession until the turnover, but left the drive empty-handed. Meanwhile, McCree and Kalu came away with one of the performances of the season.
Los Angeles eventually overcame the error to win the thriller, 17-14.
