The Washington Capitals are one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League, winning 10 games in the month of December. And it appears some key damaged pieces of their lineup are returning to contention.
The team’s optional practice on Wednesday showed some of the injured stars doing extra work on a non-game day. Was the most iconic face on the ice TJ Oshie since he has been missing since going limp on a backcheck during a Dec. 17 game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Before the Capitals left for their Christmas break, head coach Peter Laviolette gave a clearer timeline for Oshie, who has now missed multiple times due to injury this season.
“The break goes a long way,” Laviolette said. “And then when he comes back, we’ll assess and see where he is and where [the injury] located. So instead of leaving it day by day for you, we’ll go for probably a week or so when we get back and then we’ll see where it’s at and let you know then.”
Over the past two seasons, Oshie has missed 53 of 119 games due to injury and illness. Oshi has 11 points in 22 games played in the 2022-23 season, becoming the author of 5 goals and 6 assists.
