What to know?
The Detroit Pistons head home again on Sunday, but with 7 points against them, the score might not be quite as acceptable as they would prefer. They will face the New York Knicks at 1:00 PM ET at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit hasn’t won a game against New York since Nov. 6, 2019, but they’ll be looking to end the streak.
The Pistons were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap last Friday as they fell to the New Orleans Pelicans 116-110. Shooting guard Jaden Ivey had a pretty forgettable game, picking up four fouls and turning the ball over four times to go 4-for-15 for 12 points.
Meanwhile, New York defeated the Washington Wizards in a sneaky 112-108 victory last Friday. Point guard Jalen Brunson continued his habit of putting up insane stat lines with 34 points and eight assists in addition to eight boards. The game was Branson’s third straight with at least 34 points.
New York’s win dropped them to 24-19 and Detroit’s loss dropped them to 12-34. Allowing an average of 119.57 points per game, Detroit hasn’t exactly been on the defensive end. We’ll see if they can patch their defense holes before their upcoming competition.
