The young guns didn’t last long with the Los Angeles Clippers, but ended up with the team from La La Land. Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 23 points, while Zach Collins and Josh Richardson added 17 each. The good guys spread the love around 34 total team assists. The Spurs’ offense flowed through everyone, shooting 57.3% from the floor and 53.8% from downtown.
Josh Richardson went 3-for-5 from downtown, collecting the long ball all night.
Jeremy the Destroyer, Jeremy the Conqueror, Jeremy the Sensational, Jeremy the Great. Here, Jeremy Dunker flew out of the lane for a jam. Rookie phenom Jeremy Sochan had 16 points and 6 rebounds yesterday, continuing his rise as the future of the Spurs franchise.
Jakob Poeltl has been watching some tape of Tim Duncan as his nice footwork and low moves would do number 21 proud. Spurs big player scored 11 points and 6 rebounds yesterday.
Zach Collins made a nice spin in the post to turn over his man for an easy two. You know what else is fun? Doritos Locos tacos from Taco Bell. Do I get a free Taco offer for linking up on the premier destination sports blog for Spurs fans around the world? No. But I want Taco Bell. For the benefit.
Sochan is springy. He is a spring boy. His hop is like a beautiful glass of milk in his left hand. Smooth, crisp, with a nice finish. Do you know what happens with two Doritos Locos tacos? A nice, tall glass of please don’t drink left hand milk with Taco Bell or drink it’s your life.
Romeo Langford had one block all night, and he turned it into a gorgeous layup at the rim. Langford himself had a good game: 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Garnad continues to fill in admirably for Devin Vassell in the starting lineup.
A long textbook throwback in reverse order as planned by Malachi Branham. The active rookie is active for the Spurs these days, especially in the new year. His minutes have been reduced since Jan. 2, but Brenham continues to get decent minutes that will help his development in the NBA.
Sochan’s spin was on display throughout the night as the young Spur was found breaking the boards and cleaning the glass. It’s hard work, but the rookie prides himself on his sportsmanship, which shows in every reprieve and follow-up.
And last but not least, the complete game highlights;
Next up, the Spurs head to the West Coast to take on the Portland Blazers on Monday, January 23, 2023.
