Joey Logano Says If William Byron Wants To Back & Forth, He’ll Keep Swinging: “I’ll Go Bigger Every Time”

After a week to reflect on his win at Darlington, NASCAR driver Joey Logano isn’t changing his tune.

Of course, during last week’s Cup Series race at Darlington, Joey Logano won in rather controversial fashion as he ran through the back of William Byron on the second-to-last lap.

Controversial in the sense that Byron seemed to be losing speed and Joey probably could’ve passed him clean, but after William fenced him earlier in the race, Joey was coming with payback.

Byron went into the wall, losing a tire, and wound up finishing the race 13th.

And that’s how he sees it.

Today, while talking to the media ahead of qualifying, Joey reiterated his position on the beef:

“I got fenced, I retaliated, I won the race… I will not be pushed around. So in my book, we’re back to even. ”

So in Joey’s book they’re even, but something tells me William might not think so…

And if that’s the case, Joey is prepared to keep swinging:

“If he wants to keep going back and forth, I’ll keep swinging, I do not think that’s a good play for him in the long run.

So he can keep going, but I can promise you I’ll keep going and I’ll go bigger every time. ”

Something tells me this ain’t over…

Perhaps we’ll find out tomorrow at the AdventHealth 400 at the Kansas Speedway.
