Happy Monday everyone. Little happened in MLB yesterday with the NFL and of course the World Cup Finals dominating the headlines. Watching that match made me personally grateful for the experience that sports can represent. Here at PSA, we cover the Yankees from every angle, mining the endlessly interesting baseball trivia they can produce. On the other hand, sports also create that finale, which acted as a breathtaking piece of unscripted drama, a game that encompassed almost the entirety of the human experience. I find it endlessly exciting that sports can entertain us with discussions about the mechanics of Carlos Rodon’s lower body or the inner workings of the MLB CBA, as well as earth-shattering battles that inspire billions of people around the world.

Anyway, today on the site, Gary will ponder Giancarlo Stanton’s importance to the 2023 Yankees, while Matt continues our Best Playoff Games series by recalling the final game of the 2000 World Series. Also, Josh again analyzes MLB’s trend toward long free agent contracts, and John discusses ace outfielder Michael A. Taylor as a free agent target.

Questions/Tips:

1. What are the most innings that Carlos Rodon will pitch during his tenure as a Yankee?

2. For those who watched, where did last night’s World Cup final rank among the best league games you’ve seen?
