The heartbreaking story of a Long Island father’s murder while visiting his son on a college family weekend has captivated viewers. Paul Kutz of East Northport was hit by a stray bullet when two homeless men opened fire on the hotel where he was staying.
News of Wegmans Food Market coming to Long Island had viewers excited. The popular chain will open a 100,000-square-foot store in DSW Plaza near Smith Haven Mall. Wegmans has 106 locations on the East Coast, but this will be the first on Long Island.

The Massapequa Coast Little League team turned all Long Island baseball fans on its head when they won the Metro Region championship. The 12-year-olds became the first Long Island team to reach the Little League World Series since 1978. They were shut out by Pennsylvania, but proved to be an inspiration to any Long Island boy who ever wants to play in the Little League World Series. .
