PowerMizzou – Former Florida State safety Sidney Williams has committed to Missouri

Missouri received a commitment from Sidney Williams, a former Florida State safety and three-star commit from Vigor (Ala.). Williams announced his decision Saturday night and joins former Ole Miss wide receiver Dennis Jackson and former Arizona State quarterback Joe Moore as players slated to commit to the Tigers Saturday.

Williams entered the transfer portal after a redshirt sophomore season in which he had 12 tackles in 11 games.

In three seasons in Tallahassee, Williams had 66 tackles, four pass breakups, one interception and one fumble recovery. He will be eligible to remain with the Tigers for two years, although he is also technically a redshirt.

Williams has family ties to the Tigers. he happens to be cornerback Chris Abrams-Drain’s cousin. He will join a safety group that has retained two safeties in Jaylon Carlisle and Joseph Charleston. The team also has Dylan Carnell to replace Martez Manuel at the STAR position. Mizzou also added four-star Cardinal Ritter safety Marvin Burks in the early signing period.

In addition to Burks, Williams will battle for playing time with Tyler Hibler, Tyler Jones and Isaac Thompson.
