The College Football Playoff season moves into Day 2 on Saturday after a handful of games, with five more slated to kick off today.
That includes games involving four teams and one head-to-head matchup from Power Five conferences on the field this weekend.

Each region of the country gets a piece of the action on Saturday, starting in Boston before heading down south, then west in Las Vegas and ending in Los Angeles.

Washington State vs. Fresno State. Jake Henner hasn’t had a break and has scored 11 goals in the last five games for Fresno, which has won eight overall and should test the Cougars’ top seven. The weatherman is predicting rain for this game in Mobile, which features the 6-6 Golden Eagles, who are good for 24.3 points per game and 331.7 total yards per outing while finishing third in their division in the Sun Belt. Rice returns to the bowl schedule at 5-7 and has lost four of its last five while averaging 25.3 points per game on the year.

SMU is good for 325 air yards per game while scoring nearly 39 points each time, but stops the run relatively poorly, allowing more than 203 yards per outing.

North Texas vs. Boise State
