Canadian musician/producer Devin Townsend reiterated once again that he is not interested in implementing reforms YOUNG BOY ACTINGthe industrial metal outfit he fronted until 2007. Since the band’s disbandment, Townsend repeatedly asked if he would reform DIRECTLYjust to cite the mental and physical toll the band took on him, in addition to his desire for new musical pursuits.

Speaking to The Metal Meltdown: Townsend he was asked if there was any chance he would ever make another one YOUNG BOY ACTING album. He replied (as he transcribed BLABBERMOUTH.NET“The answer to that is, I’ve said it a thousand times, so I’m sure if there are people who really don’t know, they don’t care enough to pay attention.

“I understand the question and I understand why it was asked indeed do,” he went on. “But I have to be careful with the answer, because you don’t want to… I think it’s easy to get so nervous about the question that you end up getting sidetracked about it, and end up getting hurt. people when the question comes from people indeed, indeed like and they indeed want it

“So I’ll say this. the same thing that created DIRECTLY Working so well when I was 25, whether you think so or not “light” worth a piece or “Conundrum” it costs one more, it’s the same process. So the same thing that gave is the same thing that gave this. And the only reason DIRECTLY existed then because I was true to myself. It is only the reason because it was my truth at the time.

“The process of making this music is based on me trying to figure myself out as I get older, because when I was younger I had a lot of problems.” Devin explained. “So if people really like something that’s happened any point in my career, whether it is or not “Empath” or DIRECTLY or Ziltoid or “Epicloud” or whatever, then my hope is that they will realize that what they probably appreciated about it is that it comes from a place of honesty. And if I can’t be honest about something, then what people will like won’t be there. Absolutely. And I’d rather not be loved for what I am than to be loved for what I’m no longer.

DIRECTLY is a big part of my life was a huge part of my life and I love all those guys and I still talk to them.” Devin clarified. “However, the nature of what I was doing was such that the lessons I had to learn from that period of my life were reflected in the content. And now it’s not a part of my life that I can relate to, and furthermore, it’s not a part of my life that I have any desire to go back to.

“There’s going to be a certain amount of people who are going to hear this and they’re going to say, “Yeah, he’s said that before. I understand that. I love the band, but I understand it. I can respect that.” There will be a certain amount of people who will simply say. “Fuck that guy! What he has to do is do it, because it’s the only thing he’s ever done that’s worth a damn, and everything else is nasty.” and will be. another verse that simply says:DIRECTLY WTO?’ But for me bro, I’m just like… As hard as it is to say this because it’s been a couple of weird years, I’m pretty happy with where I’m at as a friend and it’s not worth it. a sacrifice to go back to a time when I wasn’t happy.”
