Sam Smith gets candid about the hilarious mess that led them to launch multiple dating apps.
When asked about their dating app history, the singer-songwriter, who identifies as non-binary and uses the pronouns “they/them,” recently has been revealed ET Canada, “I’ve never done Grindr. I did Tinder once, I think I quit Tinder.”
Sharing that they were frustrated after popular dating apps didn’t believe their accounts were real, they added:

“Well I didn’t check my profile so I should have,” quipped the 30-year-old.
Selfie verification on dating apps like Hinge is a security feature that allows users to identify themselves. Being “verified” also helps other acquaintances weed out fake profiles and catfishers, confirming that a person is who they say they are.
In 2020, Smith was rumored to be dating a furniture designer Francois Roche. They last week they were spotted hooking up with a fashion designer Christian Cowan in New York.
Speaking British GQ In October, Smith revealed that they “only had three boyfriends.”
“They were all, equally, just incredible teachers,” they shared.
Taking a break from digital romance, the “Unholy” singer joked that if they rekindle their search for love, their online profile will be dedicated to McDonald’s and their love for their puppy Velma, who they say “taught me how to Love.”
“I really feel like I don’t think I’ve ever loved anyone but my family and friends and stuff. … He really taught me that,” they said of their beloved dog.
Smith’s fourth studio album, Gloria, will be released on Friday.
