He found himself boring at first

Perry commented that someone emailed her asking her to “check out this new artist. I would really like us to work with him because he worked with me for Unsub Records,’” he recalled, without specifying who sent him the email.

“It was a song called ‘Ocean Eyes,’ and it was just a blonde girl,” Perry continued. “And I was like, ‘Meh, boring.’ Big mistake. Big mistake. Don’t let this get on the internet,” he joked.

They have been friends ever since
