John Legend and Chrissy Teigen gave birth to their third child.

Legend revealed at a private concert on Friday that his cookbook author wife had given birth earlier in the day, People reported, two years after Teigen had to undergo a life-saving abortion.

“What a blessed day,” Legend said, according to People.

The baby’s age and name were not immediately released.

Despite the lack of sleep and long hours in the hospital, Legend reportedly said he was still “energised,” a feeling that seemed to permeate his performance throughout the night.

Teigen, 37, and Legend, 44, are also parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, whom they welcomed in April 2016 and May 2018, respectively.

In August 2020, Teigen, a former Sports Illustrated model, revealed she was pregnant by showing off her bump in Legend’s “Wild” music video.

Months later, Teigen said she suffered a miscarriage after a “partial placental abruption,” losing the pregnancy at 20 weeks.

She has since said she suffered an abortion, which she says took more than a year to come to terms with.

“Let’s just call it what it was. it was an abortion,” Teigen said in September. “An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put it together until, in fact, a few months ago.”

Chrissy Teigen, left, and John Legend arrive at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Teigen’s revelation came shortly after she announced on social media that she was pregnant again after a long journey filled with IVF treatments.

“The past few years have been an emotional blur to say the least, but joy has once again filled our home and hearts,” she wrote alongside a mirror selfie of her growing baby bump. “After 1 billion shots (recently in the leg, like [you] can see!) we have another one on the way.”
