The Grammy winner and cookbook author’s new baby arrived more than two years after Teigen’s third pregnancy tragically ended. In the fall of 2020, Teigen wrote a heartbreaking essay expressing her grief over the loss.
Two years later, Teigen clarified that her pregnancy loss was actually a miscarriage in 2020.
“Let’s just call it what it is. it was an abortion,” he said at a conference in September. “An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put it together until, in fact, a few months ago.”
In August, Teigen announced via Instagram that she and Legend were expecting again. Despite her past health struggles, she said she feels “hopeful and amazing” about the pregnancy.
“Each meeting I’ve been saying to myself, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce,’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief, listen to my heartbeat, and decide I’m still too nervous,” Teigen wrote.
“I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of a date with more excitement than nerves, but so far it’s been perfect and beautiful…it’s been so hard to hold on for so long.”
