Dawn Olivieri has revealed how she ended up in Taylor Sheridan’s TV universe, or the Taylorverse as fans have dubbed it, on more than one occasion.

It turns out that the actor, who played Claire Dutton in 1883 and currently plays Sarah Atwood in the modern-day series Yellowstone, was able to base her makeover on accident while attending the premiere of the prequel back in 2018. in 2021

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Olivieri said she was approached by Sheridan, along with many of her 1883 co-stars, for the show’s premiere because she was so different from her stern on-screen persona.

“It’s a funny story,” he said. While filming 1883, I couldn’t say goodbye to anyone because I contracted COVID the night before my last day of filming and couldn’t go on set. I would just be in the background. scene”.

Instead, Olivieri said, he “just disappeared” after his two-episode run ended, only to see the likes of Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Sam Elliott and Isabelle May star in the drama’s premiere a few months later.

“In the back room, before I did the carpet, I was greeting people I’d spent a short time with, the directors and different people, and they greeted me with zero recognition,” Olivieri explained.

“I had to say. “It’s daylight. I’m playing Claire.” They said: “Oh my God”. Nobody recognized me, like I was in a suit or something.”

The 41-year-old star said that when she greeted Sheridan on the red carpet, she “didn’t recognize her face at all” until she told Olivieri who she was, and then “it was like being hit by a semi truck.” to him.

“There’s a part of me that just loved it,” said the actor, who also appeared in House of Lies and SEAL Team. “It was such a transformation that even the person who sat through every minute of my performance didn’t recognize me at that moment.”

It all worked out in the end, though, because it was his ability to completely transform himself that made Sheridan immediately decide he needed Olivier back in another role.
