Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 3 begins with the Unanimous Assembly where Jang Uk announces his relationship with Jin Bu-yeon, however, Jin Ho-kyung is not ready to accept a marriage that was done without her permission.
Left with no choice, Ho-kyung asks the mages in the assembly for help who try to suppress Jang Uk, only to fail. Displaying his power, Jang Uk tries to leave with Bu-yeon but is stopped once again as Jin Mu steps up and asks if there was a witness who saw them getting married.
Bu-yeon steps up this time and tells him that there is a witness and it is in her womb right now, indicating that she is probably pregnant already. The mages are not ready to believe this and ask Heo Yeom to check her pulse, however, he tells them that it is not possible to find the truth until 21 days have passed.

He then tells them that this is a family matter which should not be discussed in the assembly and shift the topic while Jang Uk takes Bu-yeon away with him. While leaving, they come across Cho-yeon and Dang-gu who are surprised to see them and even more surprised upon finding out about their relationship.
Bu-yeon makes her way back to the Jang household once again while everyone is shocked by the news of their secret wedding. Meanwhile, Bu-yeon tries to use her powers on the lantern once again, only to fail which makes her think that it was Jang Uk who used his powers to turn off the lantern.
She is about to leave when she sees Naksu’s sword lying on the table, but when she touches it, a stream of memories enters her mind which leaves her shocked and she is able to light the lantern once again. Jang Uk enters then and is happy to find her able to use her powers, and pushes her to keep trying.
He then remembers what happened at the assembly and asks her why she had to lie about being pregnant to get out of the assembly. She apologises for that and puts forth the idea of making the lie come true, but he tells her to put away those thoughts as he didn’t come to save her because of the reason she thinks.
Bu-yeon hears this and steps forward to kiss him.
She tells him to help her all the way and not resent her for anything before trying to leave when Jang Uk holds her back only to see her bend with pain as she holds her shoulder. He sees the tracking thread sewn on her shoulder and finds out that Ho-kyung had done this and is now trying to call her back by tightening the thread.
As Bu-yeon writhes with pain, she tells her to endure and storms into Jinyowon to destroy the tracking thread in Ho-kyung’s hands. Elsewhere, Jin Mu wants to meet Bu-yeon once again to find out why she looks like Naksu and gets So Yi to help him out.
Bu-yeon is finally relieved of her pain while Seo Yul wants to meet So Yi who has been given the task to bring Bu-yeon to the secret room in Cheonbugwan.
The next day, Bu-yeon meets Heo Yeom, Park Jin and Park Dang-gu as they ask her about the assembly and the truth about her marriage with Jang Uk. She is able to notice that everyone is finding it unbelievable that she is Jang Uk’s bride but she says nothing, while the others can’t help but find her familiar.
While leaving, she finds out from Dang-gu that it was Jang Uk who had saved her from the pain last night. Meanwhile, Park Jin and Kin Do-ju share a heartwarming moment together as the latter tells him that Jang Uk spoke about her getting married to Park Jin.

Bu-yeon then goes to find Jang Uk and reaches the grave of soul shifters that Jang Uk has made for every soul shifter he kills in the middle of the forest which Dang-gu told her about. However, there she doesn’t find him but a particular stone mountain catches her eyes which belongs to Naksu.
Standing in front of it, memories soon rush into her mind as the stones of the grave start falling and reveal a blue jade egg inside. She takes the egg with her and thinks about asking Cho-yeon about it while returning home when So Yi begins her plans and gets her running behind a thief who snatches her jade egg.
But things don’t go as planned as Bu-yeon feels that the jade is with So Yi whom she follows and lands up in the gambling den owned by her. She finds her jade and looks for So Yi when the latter attacks her with soporific to get her unconscious and locks the room.
But her plans fail again as Seo Yul arrives to meet her and ends up finding Bu-yeon who has dunked herself underwater to save herself from the soporific. Meanwhile, Jin Mu awaits Bu-yeon with soul incense to read her mind but soon finds out that So Yi has failed but has confirmed Bu-yeon’s identity when it was revealed that she is able to see energies.
Bu-yeon and Seo Yul leave the den together and try to get out of Gaema village when the former points out that they have circled the same path and calls Seo Yul an airhead. He defends himself by recounting his achievements when Bu-yeon pities that they could have been good friends because she is pretty but is not the brightest out there.
This makes him laugh as he agrees to be a part of the foolish duo with her. Meanwhile, the queen is angered by her current looks and lashes out at the court ladies. Right then Jin Mu enters and she asks him about the rites that were to be held for the lake to get the energy of the sky for which they required the relics from Jinyowon.
Jin Mu has devised a plan and tells her that he will distract Jang Uk by summoning Naksu’s soul on her third death anniversary and during that time they can get Bu-yeon to marry Seo Yul’s uncle which will help them get their hands on Jinyowon.
Elsewhere, the crown prince finds out that a rumour about the queen giving cosmetic powder to the concubines that are cursed to dry out their skin is spreading everywhere which makes him curious. He makes his way to the market where he meets Bu-yeon who is trying to hide from the priestesses of Jinyowon.
She thinks that he is a eunuch and tells him to buy the turtle that will later be used as an ingredient for cosmetics. Meanwhile, master Lee finds relics in another well which had been drying up the well.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 3 Ending
Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 3 ends with Jang Uk meeting Park Jin who confronts him about his plans for the future for which he is making preparations, beginning with getting Kim Do-ju getting married. He then talks about Mu-deok and confesses that he had been avoiding her topic because he didn’t want to hurt Jang Uk, but seeing this failing he asks him to face Mu-deok’s death before making the decision that will end his life.
On the other hand, Bu-yeon waits for Jang Uk only to find out that he is in Jeonjinggak the next day. Heo Yoon-ok’s maid points out that he must be there because someone at home is making him uncomfortable which dampens Bu-yeon’s mood.
However, she wants to share the news of her regaining another memory and does not hold back from meeting him. She catches up with Yoon-ok to go there but when the latter sees the blue jade in her hand, she tells her that it is a yin and yang jade and that this blue jade belonged to Naksu.
She tells her to pour her energy into the jade and call Jang Uk so that she can understand why no one believes her when she calls herself Jang Uk’s bride.
Bu-yeon makes her way to the place where she found the stone. Meanwhile, Jang Uk returns home and is about to leave to find her when he sees his jade glowing and rushes to the graves.
There he sees Bu-yeon which makes him disappointed and angry as he asks her for a good reason for doing this to him. She tells him that she has regained another memory and that the two of them have liked each other for a long time.
