Tom Cruise steps out of a plane in the new ‘Mission Impossible’ ad

Tom Cruise ends a great year with an even better video. shows a friend dropping like a rock from a plane… another teaser for his latest action flick.

The legendary actor posted some stunning footage on Sunday where we see him sitting on the edge of a biplane next to the director. Christopher McQuarrie – Who’s directing this next pair of Mission Impossible movies and starring in all these wild clips?

Tom thanks all moviegoers who hit the theaters this year, especially as it relates to his Top Gun. — Dead Reckoning’ Pt. 1 and 2.

Suddenly, McQuarrie tells him that they’re running out of time and need to get this shot… which prompts Tom to wave him goodbye and fall back without flinching.

What happens next is something to behold … a close-up shot of a random TC in freefall. He goes on to talk to the camera, saying it’s the honor of a lifetime to continue entertaining audiences on the big screen. Eventually, he breaks from the camera and falls further.

I have to imagine he’ll activate his parachute at some point… but we never see it happen on screen, leaving us on a literal cliffhanger.

Between this and that under the nose of the plane he was a passenger a while back… hard to say which is the crazier trick. Either way, it’s clear that Tom is still doing all of his work.
