The last season of “Sister Wives” was a very tumultuous one for Cody Brown and his now dwindling cast of wives.

In the first episode of the “One on One” special, Cody, Christine, Mary, Janelle and Robyn look back at the family drama that ran through the show’s 15th season, with a special focus on: Christine officially leaves their polygamous marriage for good. All five of them were interviewed separately for the show.
Christine was at the center of much of the conversation during the hour as host Sukanya Krishnan tried to dig in with her, her ex and the other women about what led to her shocking decision to walk out of their arrangement. One of the first things about Krishnan was when Cody told Christine before the break that he wasn’t attracted to her anymore because he wasn’t “faithful” to her.

“Hearing that he’s not attracted to me is horrible to hear, and it’s extremely embarrassing, isn’t it?” said Christine. “I just started thinking, it just goes both ways. After he said that I said. “Oh, I’m done and done.” It was almost a relief, I’m not going to keep fighting for it and keep trying if I’m not going to be attracted to it.”
Cody, however, told the host that she feels like her ex is “playing a game.” “Ever since we got married, the manipulations, the snubs, the tantrums, just the behavior stuff,” he then added, before claiming Christine “lost her own f—” when he told her he hoped to reconcile with Mary. back after his catfishing scandal. . Cody explained that he “doesn’t feel like it has to end” when asked why it took him so long to accept the inevitable.

“I knew he was unhappy,” Janelle said when asked about the split. “I know, especially during Covid, there were even more wedges. I think he finally got to the point where he knew that for his own happiness and self-preservation he had to do something.”
In the meantime, Robin said he would “march [Kody’s] butt’s in a therapist” if he ever started to experience some of the intimacy issues he and Christine were dealing with, saying he would force himself to ‘work on these issues’. He also said that he believes his “attractiveness” is based on: man’s demeanor, saying she’s seen him “just melt” after fights with other women if they can “figure things out and he’s supportive and kind.”
The newest woman then opened a whole new can of worms, saying that Christine told her “she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with me” and it was “horrible and hard.”
“I don’t know how to just not have her as my sister-in-law. It was really very difficult. I always thought Christine would open up to me. When he said he was leaving, he took away a really big dream. for me,” continued Robin. “I always envisioned us when we were older, sitting there with our grandchildren and getting that sisterhood that we saw some of these older women in our church have. He took it.”
He added that if Christine thinks Robyn has “sabotaged” her relationship with Cody, “she’s wrong,” stating that “all I’ve ever done is support her relationship with Cody.”

Christine was the first to admit that she hadn’t been on “good terms” with either Mary or Robin for “years”, although she didn’t believe things were necessarily “bad” between them either. But quite recently he “ended the friendship” with Mary.
“I ended the friendship, I ended the relationship, it wasn’t safe for me and I ended it,” Christine said. “I just told him directly. “No, we’re not going to be friends because I don’t trust you and I’m not going to do this to me again.”
“We tried a little bit here and there in Vegas, but he didn’t treat me well,” she added. “He wouldn’t be nice to me. He put me down a lot in public situations. When I hit the wall, I’m done. I just never knew who to expect and it was extremely stressful.”

Mary, Janelle, and Robyn also discussed whether Cody and Christine are even technically “divorced.” Although the two are not married in the eyes of the law, they were spiritually connected. After she decided to leave, Christine also left the Mormon Church, presenting an interesting situation for the group; For them to be officially “divorced” in the eyes of the church, Robin explained, Christine would have to be intimate with another man. But, as Janelle pointed out, if Christine no longer holds the same beliefs, does it even matter?
“If he’s going to go, … his plan is to go find his soul mate so that breaks his bond. [with Kody]said Robin.
“In our church, you have to go through channels to be released… but Christine doesn’t believe that anymore. But the contract is between two people,” Janelle added, explaining the conundrum. “It’s up to Christine if she doesn’t believe.
