Zachary Levy clears up fan claims he’s being recast as Shazam! Amid the upheaval in the DC Universe as Peter Safran and James Gunn took over as co-chairs.
Follower on Twitter claimed to be “angry” that Chuck Alum was no longer going to be the superhero because they thought “he was the perfect casting choice”. The Shazam! The enthusiast also added that Levy and Gunn are “close friends.” Another Twitter user quoted the aforementioned tweet and added: “I want that to not be true, because his Shazam is ONE thing in the DCEU that I would absolutely reach out for. @ZacharyLevi is perfection.”
Levi saw the previous interaction and clarified his current status in DC by tweeting: “Ooh, I really wouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet. I’m Gucci, Ash! We’re all Gucci.”
Levy stars in the sequel Shazam! Wrath of the Gods where he reprises his role as a superhero.
Fans of DC properties are worried about the future of their favorite actors in superhero costumes as Gunn and Saffron build a new era of the universe. After making a custom video Black AdamHenry Cavill returned wearing the Superman costume and teased his return to the DC Universe as the Man of Steel. However, Cavill’s return was under the previous regime, and the new DC bosses have other plans for Superman that don’t involve him, confirming that his “turn to wear the mantle has passed”.
Gunn is making a new Superman movie and casting a younger actor for the lead role.
the third part of Wonder woman The franchise was also recently floundered, resulting in Patty Jenkins exiting the DC Universe. Gal Gadot hinted at sharing the “next chapter” of Wonder Woman with fans, while Gunn said the actor “hasn’t been under the boot” either.
The latest change from DC is that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will not be reprising his role as Black Adam in the sequel for now, as the character “will not be in their first chapter of the stories.”
