  • Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc (NASDAQ: WBD ) DC’s anti-hero movie Black Adam has begun airing on HBO Max:. The premiere of the film with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took place on October 21.

  • It opened to mixed reviews, TechCrunch reported.

  • Black Adam performed poorly at the box office, earning $400 million worldwide against a $195 million budget, excluding marketing and other promotion and distribution costs.

  • However, Johnson disputed claims that Black Adam would lose $50 million to $100 million.

  • WBD in November named the veteran director-producer team of James Gunn and Peter Safran as new co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios.

  • The past few years have been chaotic for the DC franchise.

  • Marvel’s superhero movies have consistently outperformed DC’s at the box office over the past two decades, on average.

  • Price action. Shares of WBD traded up 5.60% at $9.35 during last check on Monday.
