The news broke yesterday Phoebe Waller-Bridge was creating a television adaptation of the long-running Crystal Dynamics franchise Tomb Runner: franchise for Prime Video. The information itself was not terribly surprising. Amazon is habit forming customization of itemsand we are in a period where any and every game it looks like it’s becoming a TV or a movie.

But the news came before more information from The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the broadcaster also plans to add a Tomb Raider film into the mix. It will be the first movie since the 2018 movie reboot Games2010s starring Alicia Vikander and Walton Goggins, and comes after Tomb Raider’s film rights last year became up for grabs. The film is said to be part of Amazon’s larger effort to create connectivity Tomb Raider space. The film will connect to Waller-Bridge TV displayand both them will contact you in the future Tomb Raider Crystal Dynamics game that Amazon plans to publish for PC and consoles. And it’s possible that future games, either from Crystal Dynamics or other studios, could tie into this universe that the streamer is making.

Sources speaking to THR commented on this Tomb Raider It’s one of Amazon’s biggest liabilities right now, which is saying something because the tech giant has spent hundreds millions for television rights Lord of the Rings. A piece of Lara Croft-related media that doesn’t seem to make much of an impact It’s in Amazon’s plans Tomb Raider anime on Netflix, which was announced back in 2021 and (last time we checked) will star Hayley Atwell as a treasure hunter.

What does A do? Tomb Raider is the universe like that? I guess we’ll find out when Amazon releases more information about the show or movie, or when Crystal Dynamics offers some teases about what’s in store for Lara Croft’s return.
