Miley Cyrus will not give up her blonde hair anytime soon.
In a new clip from his appearance on NBC’s upcoming “A Toast to 2022.” For the New Year’s Eve special, the 30-year-old singer shared how Dolly Parton, 76, reacted after she suggested she change her look.
“I’ve never seen Dolly really scared before,” Cyrus told “Today” host Hoda Kotby, 58. “But I told him. “At the end of the year, I really want to do something else. I will dye my hair brunette. He acted like I told him the worst news you can imagine. She clutched her pearls, took a breath, and stepped back, and she says, “You can’t do that. You’re the one.”
“I’m kind of an extension of Dolly Parton, where she’s like I’ve just given her the worst news you’ve ever heard. So I’ll be blonde. We will either complement each other, match or be completely opposite, because Dolly and I, he says. “You be you, I’ll be me, and together we’ve got the perfect show.”
During the interview, Cyrus also talked about her 20th birthday and 2023 New Year’s resolution.
“I think that my decision will really be. my instincts are very high, but I’m not a great listener sometimes,” Cyrus explained. “Dolly was telling me, her husband (Carl Thomas Dean) was saying, “You’re not hard of hearing, you’re hard of hearing.” And I guess that will be my decision to not only listen to myself, but to listen to others.”
The “Hannah Montana” alum then shared how she feels now that she’s turned 30.
“I always say that my truth is true and its opposite is also true. In a way I’m completely different and then in a way I’m the same,” Cyrus added. “Now, in my 30s, I mean, my 20s were so much fun. If you don’t believe me, I guess you can Google it.”
Cyrus’ speech in the movie “A Toast to 2022”. will precede her second NBC “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” which she will co-host with Parton. A host of acts including Sia, Latto and Fletcher will also help the superstars ring in the new year.
