Ground crews are still unable to continue the search for missing actor Julian Sands due to avalanche danger in the area.
Mr Sands, 65, went missing on Friday in the Baldy Bowl area of the San Gabriel Mountains as local authorities continued to search “with helicopters and drones as weather permits”.
“The air search is resuming, but we have not yet been able to resume the ground search due to icy conditions and the threat of an avalanche,” said Gloria Huerta, public information officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. BBC: on Friday.
He said there was still “no time” when they would start again.
In other news, a phone belonging to Mr. Sands appears to show he was on his way to a trip to the Southern California mountains on the day he was reported missing.
Recently, the search has expanded as officials use cell phone forensics to help locate the actor.

“No hard time” to end the search, authorities say
Authorities say there is still no “hard deadline” to end the search for Julian Sands, my colleague. Oliver Browning reports.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the incident is still considered a search and rescue operation, although snow, sleet and fog continue to hamper operations on foot.

Federal agencies are assisting in the search for Julian Sands, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
“We are working with state and federal agencies that have cell phone forensics to help us locate, but so far no new information has been developed,” a department spokeswoman said.
