Irene KaraThe singer best known for her 80s hits “Flashdance” and “Fame” died of hypertension and high cholesterol… TMZ has learned.
In medical records obtained by TMZ, the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Irene’s official cause of death was high blood pressure and hypertensive heart disease … it was also noted that Irene was diabetic.
As we reported, the singer is dead in November at the age of 63 at his home in Florida.
Irene is best known for the iconic song “What a Feeling” from the 80’s movie Flashdance…she won an Oscar for Best Original Song for the hit.
Irene is also the woman behind the song “Fame” from the movie of the same name… she received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in “Best Actress” in the film.
Fans will remember Irene from other movies, including her role in City Heat Clint Eastwood and: Burt Reynolds. He also appeared in Certain Fury playing the antagonist Tatum O’Neal.
Irene’s work and talent did not go unnoticed… in 2004 she received a Prestige Award for Lifetime Achievement.
