Amanda Seyfried suffered a wardrobe malfunction at Sunday night’s Critics Choice Awards.
To walk the red carpet, The Dropout star wore a vintage Dior gown styled by Elizabeth Stewart. The design was cut from a single piece of gold lamé chiffon.
Seyfried accessorized the gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown with a gold and blue necklace and matching Cartier jewelry earrings and metallic Stuart Weitzman heels. The actress styled her hair in a low ponytail and completed the look with a golden manicure and bright red lipstick.
Despite the 37-year-old’s jaw-dropping looks, all was not as it seems. the dress kept ‘breaking’.
“Yes, it’s old. It keeps breaking. I kid you not, it keeps ripping. It’s actually like breaking,” the star said during a red carpet interview. Enter Hollywood!.
He continued joking. “I’ll just take my dress off. I’ll just take it off, it keeps tearing. It’s good, it’s good. It literally is. It is good: Honestly, it’s old. Is beautiful: !”
The actress went on to win Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for her role as Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu series, which she accepted wearing the dress.
However, it seemed that the wardrobe malfunction worked out for the best; he later wore a coat to cover the damage on stage to accept the award for Best Limited Series.
Earlier in the night, Seyfried said the look made her feel like a million bucks.
“It’s a statue dress, so if I don’t get it, at least I look like it,” she quipped.
Despite the dress issues, fans loved Seyfried’s look and tweeted their love.

This isn’t the first time Seyfried has endured a fashion emergency.
For the 2021 virtual Golden Globes, the glam mom showed off a coral Dolce & Gabbana dress with pleated sleeves, which Seyfried said: E! put her in a “sunny, spring and glamorous” mood.
However, there was a big uproar when she learned that her designer dress had been left in New Jersey for 36 hours before being shipped to Georgia, where the actress was doing fittings, causing the dress to almost never arrive on time.
